Dermabrasion:
There are two forms of this procedure. Micro–dermabrasion, the less invasive option, is a deep exfoliation of the skin resulting in smoother, more youthful skin. It is easily performed without need for anesthesia or prolonged downtime. Traditional dermabrasion helps smooth out the irregularities on the skin, such as scarring and hyperpigmentation, by abrading off some of the epidermis, the top layer of skin. It is not without some aesthetic risk and could be a considered option for individual patient's concern.
Chemical Peels:
This procedure removes the superficial layers of skin to achieve a less weathered and aged appearance. To determine if a chemical peel is right for you, you will need an expert evaluation.
Botox Cosmetic:
This simple and very popular procedure involves the local injection of a substance that relaxes contraction of selected facial muscles. Eliminating this muscle action results in a smooth and rejuvenated appearance of the overlying skin. It is most effective in the forehead, between the brows and in the "crow’s feet" area. Repeated every six months, Botox delivers great results without surgery or down time.
Fillers:
There are many available fillers—the most well–known are Restylane, Juvederm and Radiesse. Both Restylane and Juvederm contain hyaluronic acid, while Radiesse consists of calcium microspheres in a water–gel base. All three are biodegradable substances appearing naturally in the body. As a simple office procedure, fillers are injected in the superficial layer of the skin, adding volume to facial wrinkles and folds. Most typically used in the forehead, lips and "marionette" lines (folds beginning at the nose extending to the corners of the mouth), this procedure eliminates unwanted folds and wrinkles. Fillers restore a youthful facial appearance without the need for surgery. The desired effect lasts six to twelve months, depending on product and treatment area.
Lasers:
There are a myriad of lasers available for many different purposes. They are used safely and effectively for eliminating unwanted hair growth and small prominent blood vessels in the face and legs, reducing fine wrinkles around the eyelids and face, as well as treating small lesions, areas of aging, hyperpigmentation, and some minor scars.
General Skin Care:
Environmental conditions and genetic predispositions have a significant effect on your skin’s appearance. Expert evaluation of your skin will provide you with a program which combines proper home care and occasional minor office techniques. The result—a refreshed, glowing, rejuvenated state you deserve.
